1. Pre-Egg Retrieval

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) view of the ovulation phase is Yang at its peak. With the Yang energy responsible for releasing the egg, specific Acupuncture points are selected to help this progress in IVF.

Points that assist this phase help

  • Generate the Qi flow
  • Enhance the Reproductive Essence
  • Harmonize the mind
  • Promote the function of the uterus

All of these elements are combined in one or more sessions of calm relaxation in preparation for egg retrieval.

2. Pre-Embryo Transfer

Prior to embryo transfer, another session is done with goals to prepare the body and mind for pregnancy. Acupuncture points are chosen to

  • Increase mental clarity
  • Promote smooth Qi flow
  • Regulate the Chong and Ren vessels that bring Qi, Essence, and Blood to support the uterus for embryo gestation.

Often mom-to-be will appreciate this session as anxiety and self doubt builds, and the support from Acupuncture and family is especially needed at this time.

3. Post-Embryo Transfer

Immediately or soon after the embryo transfer, Acupuncture points are carefully selected for the pregnant mom. Points in the lower abdomen are omitted as they become contraindicated at this time. The focus of this 3rd treatment is to

  • Uphold and maintain calm while gently enhancing reproductive essence.

Patient is advised to relax and pamper, avoid heavy lifting, eat well balanced, and avoid coldness and wind.
